Ride Details

Welcome to one of the hottest and most exciting bike rides in Houston.  This event will have everything for all the family. Cyclists of every experience and ability level are welcome. Riders can choose from 20, 40, 62, 78, or 101 mile routes.

On your return, you will be welcomed by McDonald's characters: Hamburglar and Grimace as well as Bootsie the Clown, and much more....

The Rides

McDonald's characters will be on hand as Space Race riders leave the start line between 7:00 am and 9:00 a.m.

Rider safety is of upmost concern, therefore, per MS Society recommendations. Riders can start anytime between 7am and 9am.  It is recommended that the longer distance riders start earlier and shorter distance start later.

All courses will be clearly marked with and each route will be patrolled by SAG vehicles providing mechanical and first aid assistance.

Each rest stop will be clearly marked and have restroom facilities, refreshments, minimal
first aid, and mechanical assistance.

Free* McDonald's Food at Return Stop! (*while supplies last)

  • HELMETS MUST BE WORN AND RULES OF THE ROAD MUST BE FOLLOWED
  • All riders under the age of 18 must cycle with an adult.
  • Ride support shuts down in stages, beginning at 2:30 pm working from the furthest reststop out, and ends at Start/FInish. 
  • All ride support ENDS at 4:30 p.m.

Rest Stop Distance Tables

The average speed for the 100 mile route is a little less than 15 miles per hour average, including stops. All riders are expected to finish by 3:30 PM.  If riders wish to continue on the route after the closure time, they are on their own and can expect no SAG or reststop support.
